086 押形 Oshigata(Trace)
豊臣秀吉の一期一振はもとは約85cmでした。
写真もなかった昔に摩上げされた刀の始めの姿がどうしてわかるのでしょうか？
「押形」が残っているからです。
押形というのは刀の上に和紙を置き、墨で外形を写し、地刃の働きを書き加え、
長さや反り等データを添えたもので、昔の人が多数の名刀の押形を残してくれたので
刀の研究に非常に役立っています。
Oshigata is J.S. hand copy on Washi(J.paper). Put a Washi on J.S.
Trace an out shape with Sumi(ink stick). Add Hamonn and other special features.
Old J. people made many Oshigata of old good J.S.
It's very valuable for J.S. research. For example,
We can know "Ichigo-Hitofuri(=One time only)" is 85cm long at first.
