差し表,差し裏 SashiomoteSashiura(Wear showside,Wear backside)

刀は腰の帯に差しますが、その場合刃を上に向けて差します。その時外側に向くほうを差し表といいます。
一般的には銘はこの面に刻みます。刀を飾る場合はこの差し表が見えるように置きます。
差し裏とは指し表の反対側です。

J.S. is weared in waist belt. And edge is upeer side. We call it "Sasu".
"Sashiomote" is the outside at that time. Usually the Sign is on this side.
"Sashiura" is opposite side of "Sashiomote".
