165 帯刀禁止建白書 Prohibition against a sword

明治６年(1873)3月、正院出仕、矢上勝之が帯刀禁止建白書を太政官に提出しました。

「刀は銃にはかなわない、しかし殺傷には十分である、
陰謀反逆から窃盗までみなこれを用いるのである。
刀を没収し溶かして鉄道のレールや戦艦を作れば
無用の長物は便利の利器となり、凶器は治安に役立つのである。(意訳)」

めちゃくちゃ言ってます。

Meiji 6(1873).March ,Katsukore Yagami(public servant) made
"Taitou kinnshi Kennpakusyo(Prohibition against a sword)".

It said "A sword is inferior than a gun. But enough to kill and injure a man.
Every rowdy use a sword. It is good idea that confiscate swords,melt them,
make a rail and a battleship with it."
