111 富士見西行 Fuji-mi-Saigyou(Saigyou looking at Mt.Fuji)
江戸時代もっとも平和だった元禄時代、使われなくなった刀は買い替えの必要もなく
その需要は減少しました。売るためにいろいろなものが登場します。
「富士山を見ている西行法師を波紋で表現してみました」という「富士見西行」
なんていう作品もあります。以前拝見しましたが波紋の途中が山形になっていて
少し離れたところに丸い島刃が焼いてありました。
山が富士山、島刃が西行法師だそうです。
Genroku era is the most peaceful age in Edo piriod.
People don't use swords. No use make no demand.
Sword smith make a strange swords for making demand.
One sword smith made a sword with a hamonn(temper pattern) of
"Saigyou(famous Buddhist priest) looking at Mt.Fuji".
Once I had saw it. The sword's hamonn has a mount shape in a middle of it.
And it has a small circle temper little apart from mount shape hamonn.
They say mount shape hamonn is Mt.Fuji,circle temper is Saigyou.
