104　江戸新刀　Edo Shinnto(Edo new sword)

090 で述べたように江戸時代になると刀剣は需要のある土地で生産されるように
なります。当然幕府のお膝元であり、武士の都市である江戸にも名工が集まりました。
とりあえず江戸新刀と呼ばせていただきます。(一般的な呼び方ではありません)

武士の都市ですので作柄は勇壮です。特徴的なのは反りが少ないのですが先幅を少し
落とし、反りがあるようにも見えます。これは寛文新刀の特色でもあります。
個人戦主体に突き等を重視した結果じゃないかといわれてます。

勇壮とはいっても戦国時代から５０年以上たってますので殺伐とした雰囲気はなく美しいものです。

有名どころでは虎徹、御紋康継、大和守安定、等があります。

At this time swords were made at demand city. Edo(now Tokyo) is city of Bushi(Samurai).
Many good sword master gathered at Edo. I call them Edo Shinnto.

Edo Shinnto is brave style. Because customers were Bushi(Samurai fighters).
Sori is very slightly,but sakihaba(point width) is narrow than motohaba(biginning width).
It seems like that sword has sori(arch).
These are Kanbunn shinntou's characteristic.
They say that it suit this time fighting style(individual fight).

War age was finished 50years ago. Edo shinto has no inhumane impression.
They are beautiful.

Famous sword masters are "Kotetsu","Gomonn Yasutsugu","Yamato no kami Yasusada".
