060 応永備前　Ouei-Bizenn(Bozenn J.S. at Ouei)

室町時代初期の備前(現岡山県)の刀を特に「応永備前」ということがあります。

応永(1394-1427)を中心として鎌倉時代の古備前鍛冶の作風を取り入れた美しくて
覇気のある魅力的な刀が作られました。

あまり長いものは見かけませんが、手ごろで年期、銘のあるものが多く、
華やかな出来なので非常に人気が高いです。

Bizenn(now Okayama prefecture) J.S. made at first Muromachi-piriod is sometimes
called "Ouei-Bizenn".

Ouei-Bizenn was mainly made at Ouei(1394-1427),so it's called "Ouei-Bizenn"

It is like an Old Bizenn J.S.(Kamakura-piriod).
It's very beutiful and full of spirit. But not so long.
Many Ouei-Bizenn has sign and manufacture year on its Nakago.

Ouei-Bizenn is very popular.
