船坂氏はアンガウル島玉砕からの生還兵士でした。
その記録「英霊の絶叫」を刊行した際三島氏が序文を寄せられ
その序文に感激した船坂氏が愛蔵していた後代兼元を進呈したのです。

Mr. Funasaka was a surviving soldier from the Angaur Island Gyokusai.
Mr. Mishima wrote the preface when "the screaming of Heroes"
was published.
Mr. Funasaka, who was deeply moved by the preface, presented him
with the later period Kanemoto that he had treasured.
